College Closures
As we move into the Autumn and Winter terms, I thought I should remind you about how we deal with any severe weather, especially snow, which may affect the College.
Each day of any severe weather, the College leadership team and Local Authorities transport company will make a decision as to whether they can safely get the learners and staff to College. This decision will be made early in the morning, in enough time to inform you if they are running.
I, as Principal, will also make an assessment about whether it is safe and practical to open the College to Learners. Please be assured that I only decide to close our College in exceptional circumstances where the safety of Learners and staff is the primary concern. On occasion, this may be due to the availability of staff who travel some distance to reach College, rather than purely conditions for Learners getting to College.
It may be possible that when transport is not running that College will be able to open later as long as sufficient staff are available.
Please check this website for updates which will be displayed on the homepage or on the Swindon Borough Council website, for up to date information. Details will also be posted on the college Facebook page and Twitter.
Closure information will also be shared with the local radio stations Heart FM and BBC Radio Swindon.
Should you have any questions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
