Pathway to employment

Course Information

This programme is for learners over 16 who have additional needs and who want to progress into the world of employment.

The course has a person-centred approach and focuses on helping learners work towards and achieve their long term goals and outcomes, particularly those related to employment.

Learners will gain skills to improve their independence and employability through work based subjects in a variety of work settings. We offer a range of Vocational Options for learners to choose from so they can study subjects that are interesting and relevant to them.

These options include:

  • Retail Farm/Horticulture
  • Animal Care
  • Manufacturing
  • Hospitality
  • Sport and Fitness
  • Catering

All of our learners take part in enterprise or work experience, both internally and with local employers. You will also complete activities for daily living and receive travel training support.

Qualifications 

We offer a wide range of options and activities. Our aim is to get everyone ready for the next step in life, whether this is independent, supported or unsupported employment.

Learners will study Numeracy and Literacy and achieve qualifications with an appropriate awarding body.

Moving on…

From the Pathway to Employment, learners will progress into voluntary, supported or unsupported employment, or they may progress to a Supported Internship programme.

Entry Requirements

Applicants need to be over 16 and have an Education, Health and Care Plan.

It is important to have the determination and motivation to meet the needs of the ever changing world of work.

Course Cost

The course is free to full time learners with an EHCP.
